Benefits Of Black Soap

Black soap is also known as African Black Soap and is simply referred as ABS. It is an excellent cleanser that is composed of numerous soothing and beneficial ingredients that are abundantly found in nature.

Although these ingredients are found all through the world, ABS is traditionally made by hand in Africa.

Research has revealed that black soaps might contain many different ingredients, but majority of black soaps contain various oils, like the coconut oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, shea butter and cocoa butter. They also contain ashes from different plants, like shea tree bark, banana trees, cocoa pods, and plantain leaves. Along with these water is used as a base for producing these soaps.

Black Soap Benefits

1. Helps to remove scars caused by acne

African black soap contains natural ingredients like shea butter and plantain skins which are effective in reducing scars and dark spots caused by acne. These ingredients help to exfoliate the skin and promote the growth of new, healthy skin cells. With regular use, black soap can help to fade acne scars and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

2. Helps to remove skin irritations

African black soap has anti-inflammatory properties that help to soothe and calm irritated skin. It is effective in treating skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and rashes. The soap helps to moisturize the skin and reduce itching and redness.

3. Black Soap is suitable for all skin types

Black soap is a versatile product that can be used on all skin types. It is gentle and non-irritating, making it ideal for sensitive skin. The soap is effective in treating oily skin, dry skin, and combination skin. It helps to balance the skin’s natural oils, leaving it soft and supple.

4. Beneficial for skin diseases

African black soap contains natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that help to fight off harmful bacteria and fungi on the skin. This makes it an effective treatment for skin diseases like psoriasis and eczema. The soap helps to reduce inflammation, redness, and itching associated with these conditions.

5. Black Soap helps in removing make-up

African black soap is a natural and gentle cleanser that can be used to remove makeup. It is effective in removing dirt, oil, and makeup residue without stripping the skin of its natural oils. The soap helps to unclog pores and prevent breakouts.

6. Delays aging on the skin

Regular use of black soap helps to promote collagen production, which helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. It contains antioxidants that protect the skin from free radical damage, which is a major contributor to aging. The soap helps to improve skin elasticity, leaving it looking youthful and radiant.

7. Benefits to oily skin

African black soap is an effective treatment for oily skin. It helps to regulate the production of sebum, which is the skin’s natural oil. This prevents the skin from becoming too oily and helps to prevent breakouts. The soap helps to unclog pores and remove dirt and impurities from the skin.

8. Black Soap benefits to the hair

African black soap can also be used as a natural shampoo. It helps to cleanse the hair and scalp, removing dirt, oil, and product buildup. The soap is gentle and non-irritating, making it ideal for all hair types. After washing with black soap, the hair is left clean and soft, ready for conditioning.

Black soap contains a very high content of glycerin; it can easily absorb moisture from the air. To prevent it from spoiling due to humidity, black soap must be stored in a sealed plastic bag or dry container. This will give life to your soap.

    • I’ve been using black soap for years. I don’t have problems like acne, pimples, constant breakouts because taking care of my face is very important to me. I have used almost every skin care system on the market. I use the natural form of black soap. Nothing added and it’s not in the form of a bar like most people use. You can purchase this from African stores as well. After you wash your face, you should always use an astringent or clarifying lotion to get the excess dirt and oil off. I personally use clinique and follow with a good moisturizer daily. I promise you will see a difference in the overall look and feel of your face trust me. But remember natural black soap not this dodo sum mess or whatever it’s called.

    • I’ve used cetaphil for my face for years, I started using black soap and its given me better results than any other soaps and face washes. My face is naturally oily but black soap didn’t leave my face dry. I definitely recommend it to melanated men who have trouble shaving and have left over scars due to shaving too close.

  2. My experience with black soap has been mixed. When I first used it I scrubbed too enthusiastically and used too much. I had a very bad reaction similar to a burn. It took almost a week for the scaliness/scab to heal. The second time I used it I didn’t scrub but still used too much. It burned while I was using it but beside some redness there was no problem. Now I use a small amount, massage it on gently and I have been seeing great results. Since I have added it to my skin care routine there has been less noticeable acne and redness.
