Kale greens belong to the Brassica family of plants and has resemblance to green leafy vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and other such vegetables known for their nutritious properties. Due to its colorful unique appearance, kale greens have been a part of the salad decoration since traditional times. However, their benefits extend far afar the appearance. The leaves contain rich amounts of beta-carotene- a pigmented substance that helps to protect the body against skin diseases. The amount is seven times more than that present in broccoli, which is considered as a very healthful vegetable. Other healthful compounds present are carotenoid lutein that helps in preventing eyes from being damaged. Kale greens are thus very beneficial for the body. A few of its benefits are:

Research conducted in the field reveals that all members of Brassica family including Kale greens contain the most potent phytochemicals capable of fighting lethal diseases like cancer. Apart from this, Kale contains high amounts of gluosinolates, a chemical that aids the liver in the detoxification of cancer causing substances, which most people get exposed to daily. When consumed on a regular basis, kale helps in reducing the intensity of certain kinds of cancers.

Rich source of carotenoids.
Kale is a rich source of carotenoids, such as lutein-a phytochemical, which helps in reducing the risk of cataracts. Kale is also rich in beta-carotene, a carotenoid which not only helps in fighting against cataracts, but also lessens the risk of certain kinds of cancers.

Rich in nutrients.
Kale is an extremely rich source of three vital vitamins– vitamin A, C, and K. Apart from these, other vitamins present in kale include vitamin B and vitamin E. Vitamins C and E which are good antioxidants. They protect the body against the negative effects of free radicals that are produced in the body as a result of metabolic reactions. Vitamin K is crucial in maintaining heart and bone health, and helps in the clotting of the blood. Vitamin A supports good vision, especially at night.

Kale contains three vital minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, which are particularly required for controlling blood pressure.

Aids in weight loss.
People who wish to lose weight naturally should increase their consumption of kale as it is high in nutrition and low in calories. Kale is a good source of fiber that helps to add bulk to food and provides satiety.

Kale can be consumed raw by adding a little apple cider vinegar, which will improve its ability for weight loss. Kale can be added to soups, or used as a pizza topping. Raw kale can be used in the form of salad green. So, increase your consumption of Kale and get benefitted by its healthful properties.

      Eat your greens it is the best thing you could do for yourself to keep yourself heathly. Everone wants to feel good.I mean really good. When you feel good you want more it could only get Better!!!!#:)
