  1. I love lupini beans. I lost 20 lbs and ate so much healthier when I replaced pasta, rice and other beans with lupini beans. I stopped eating them and put back on the weight. They really are a natural appetite suppressant and they helped me maintain my muscle while losing weight. I now go through the trouble of cooking and flavoring these great treats. Great article. For those who may have a peanut allergy these may not be for you. Otherwise, the beans are processed and unless they taste bitter they are fine.

  2. U must soak overnite, then rinse & return to pot. Fill w fresh water a couple inches over the lupini beans. Cook 45 minutes. Cool, rinse & put the lupini in mason jars or other glass jars, fill with water & 1 teas. salt. Put in frig. Everyday for a week drain, rinse beans, refill jar w/beans, fresh water to cover & salt. This is the way you remove the bitterness.
If desired, you can add a clove of peeled garlic for flavor to the jar while you are brining the beans. They are a great snack and will keep in the frig for a couple weeks if you change the water everyday. (Don’t forget to pop them out of the shell before you eat them)

  3. After you boil, you soak it in water five day you have to change water twice in the morning and at night. On the fish day you will notice the bitter taste is completely gone, you can add a little Sault to the water if u like it a little saulty.

  4. You can buy them ready to eat in 32 oz. jar at Mediterranean food stores,
they come with salty water, you need to wash them with cold water few times to take off the salt, then keep them soaked in the water in the refrigerator.
